The Cities of London and Westminster Conservative Future (CLWCF) is the flagship society for the under-30s. Reformed in June 2007, the Executive has been building the most active Conservative Future branch in London. On this page you will find details of our approach, contact information, and other resources. Society membership can be obtained either at one of our events, or by printing off the membership form and returning it by post.
Campaign Days are the cornerstone of our political activity. In 2007 CLWCF undertook a long term commitment to our newly formed neighbours, Westminster North. We are focusing our energies on supporting PPC Joanne Cash through the adoption of Westbourne Park ward, in the north west of the seat. CLWCF takes responsibility for canvassing and campaigning in this ward, through monthly action days. We have also been instrumental in supporting Boris Johnson's mayoral campaign.
Star Socials are our flagship monthly social gathering, and a mainstay of the London political scene. Held on or around the first Tuesday of each month, with a renowned conservative speaker, they are your political expresso for the month ahead. Our socials derive their name from the Old Star Tavern, located opposite St. James's Park tube station, at which they are hosted in the first floor bar.
Social Action is the great idea at the heart of modern Conservative thought, and something CLWCF has fully embraced. We work with local organisations in our constituency to champion causes which make a tremendous difference to peoples' lives. In 2007 we were proud to take part in the annual Poppy Appeal where we raised over £3000, with our members covering a dozen central London tube stations. Without us, those stations would have been unmanned. We also ran a morale boosting appeal to send gift packages to our heroic troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Facebook has revolutionised our entire approach to campaigning and organisation. All of our events are announced through Facebook, and our group contains the latest news and pictures from our political, social and charitable events. Please join the group for the latest information, event invitations and political opportunities across all of London.
